Over Three Decades of Expertise

OA Surf Club is a surfing and coasteering school offering accommodation for surfers and non surfers at Atlantic Court, building on the great reputation of Outdoor Adventure, we aim to do things slightly differently.

Our team of coaches are watermen through and through, they love living in Cornwall, and are all keen surfers and coasteerers who are fully trained instructors and beach lifeguards. This means that you can relax and enjoy being in the ocean as you know you are in safe hands.

Rob has grown up with saltwater in his veins, he has been involved in the watersports industry from an early age and has been coaching Surfing, Windsurfing, Coasteering and other activities for the past 25 years. He has managed a local surf school for the past 20 years and brings a wealth of operational and safety knowledge to the OA Surf Club.

Tia has always participated in multiple sports growing up; however, it wasn’t until she caught her first wave that she truly became hooked on surfing and spends as much time in the sea pushing herself as well as coaching others. Tia’s been coaching for almost 3 years now, and is highly motivated about encouraging more women to learn to surf, and create a highly popular, and friendly female band of surfers.

jess oa surf club

Jess is a real water baby and will take every opportunity to get out onto the water, whether that’s on a surfboard, windsurf or snorkelling around our amazing beaches. She has lived around the world and had the opportunity to surf in different parts of Europe including Lanzarote. Jess is a full-time university student but has chosen to spend her summer down in Cornwall, instructing with OA surf club.

ollie oa surf club

Ollie is a Bude local and has been surfing around Cornwall and North Devon for over 15 years. Ollie is always keen to get out onto the water and has been doing so since he was 5! His surfing experience and extensive knowledge of our local beaches makes him a talented instructor for OA, and he is great at motivating people to get into and improve their surfing.

Thomas defied all the odds. Despite growing up as pretty much as far as it gets from the sea, Birmingham, Thomas has become a keen surfer. He first tried surfing aged 8, and since then has leaped at any opportunity to get in the sea. He has decided to join us for the summer before he heads to uni because of the amazing surf and beaches we have at Widemouth.

George is a surfer and adventurer who enjoys travelling and exploring coastlines.  Stoked on surfing all types of waves and loves riding a variety of boards to suit.  George is also loving the instructing side of surfing and is now in his third season of coaching.  He aims to help the progression of surfers by breaking down the basics, simplifying movements and having fun with styles to surf

“Excellent surfing lessons. Really helpful instructors, hints, tips and advice. Lots of time in the water and lots of fun! Highly recommend.”

Ruth Greenaway-Robbins

I went for my first ever surfing lesson at the age of 41 with my two children aged 13 & 15. We were in a group of 8 with Tia as our instructor. Tia was very informative, and knowledgeable and helped us all relax. We had some practice on the sand and plenty of time in the water. I would recommend this to anyone looking to try surfing for the first time or trying to improve. I felt safe and was able to get advice after I nose dived off the end of my board more than once in the water!!!! Each of our group manage to get up on the board, which was great: the surf wasn’t brilliant and we had intermittent waves but that can’t be helped. The surf school were excellent, well organised and efficient, providing great opportunities for new experiences for all!
